The site lies to the North East of Congleton town centre, with access
from two residential roads in a predominantly residential area. The site
was previously used for a manufacturing/factory purpose; with the
number of vacant buildings reflecting this use.
To the south and west, the site shares boundaries with low density
residential properties of varying tenures and the Biddulph Valley Way
is to the north of the site.
An outline planning application has been submitted with residential
use and access being the only matters to be determined. Due to the
topography at the proposed site entrance consultants have been
appointed to ensure that the development works with the gradient of the
access road.
An outline remediation strategy has been prepared, however further
intrusive investigations will be required once the existing buildings are
demolished.
